Often, I let paintings develop slowly over time, allowing them to become complex, painterly, filled with emotion and thought.

Characterized by evocative, poetic subject matter and rich, multilayered surfaces, my work seeks to connect through both conscious and unconscious pathways.

For several years now, I’ve embraced the uncertainty that comes with each new work—a dive into the unknown guided by creativity and curiosity.

Each painting begins with the desire to translate a feeling, a moment, or a memory into the tactile substance of paint, using the language of colour and gesture. Through this process, unexpected complexities often rise to the surface, revealing layers of meaning rising from the subconscious mind.

The beauty and mystery of nature, the interplay of colour and light, the way we create and shape memories, and those fleeting in-between moments that shape our days are some of the main anchors of my current work.

I’ve worked as a painter for over forty years and am a graduate of NSCAD University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
